Loic Scomparin and Christopher-Middleton Pearson finished in 23rd and 31st place, with the impressive times of 14:39 and 14:43, respectively. Senior Adrian Schroeder finished at 4th place with an astonishing time of 14:09. Dublin High was one of the few teams that dominated the race, finishing at 3rd place in the 3 Miles Doug Speck’s Boys Sweepstakes, beating 3 nationally ranked teams in the process. Woodbridge Championships was a major cross country race featuring an array of the best teams in the nation. Woodbridge Invitational (Top Varsity Boys) The Dublin Cross Country team faced serious competition on the boys and girls races, and are proud to have done so well in spite of several injured and sick runners who weren’t at their top shape at the time of the meet. Sebastian Munoz Arroyo (10), Vince Tan (11), Darren Furtado (12), and Luke Wu (13) all finished with times of 17:27, 17:28, 17:38, and 17:40, respectively. Sophomore Kyle Elias led the race with the time of 16:29, followed by sophomore Ishaan Jain, finishing with 16:43. In the Frosh/Soph division, Dublin was also ranked 1st. Senior Trevor Chapman came in at 4th place with 16:34 and Robin Bajwa (9th), Brian Patterson (10th), Stanley Jiang (14th), and Jhonatan Solis (15th) finished with times of 17:07, 17:12, 17:29, and 17:45, respectively. In the Junior Varsity Boy’s division, Dublin was ranked 2nd out of participating schools. Freshman Surya Marimuthu came in at 15th place with the time of 16:11. Junior Loic Scomparin and senior Gaurav Phanse followed in 3rd and 8th place with times of 15:28 and 15:47, respectively. In the Varsity Boy’s division, Dublin finished in 1st place, with senior Adrian Schroeder winning 1st place with a time of 15:13. The meet was split into 3 main divisions: Frosh/Soph, Junior Varsity, and Varsity divisions, with each level further separated by gender.
The East Bay Athletic League (EBAL) Championships was a race with high tensions and competition throughout the day. Here are some of the main highlights from the meets: Dublin High has excelled in all of these meets and won at least once in nearly all of them. This season, our cross country team has participated in 8 official meets: Ed Sias Invitational, Woodbridge Invitational (top varsity boys only), Clovis Invitational, Farmers Invitational, Scott Bauhs Invitational, Mariner Invitational, and the EBAL Championship.
The team recently ran in the EBAL Championships, in which they won the Boys Frosh/Soph and Boys Varsity divisions in the 3 mile course at Shadowcliff Regional Park, Pleasanton. The DHS cross country team has had an outstanding season this year. Sumedh Vaidyanathan and Vikram Nithyanandam
